CBD and Anxiety


The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) estimate that 19.1% of adults in the U.S. experienced an anxiety disorder and that more women experience anxiety than men. That is an enormous amount of people suffering daily.


CBD (cannabidiol) is still emerging into the natural health world but there is mounting evidence that it holds a great many benefits for a myriad of health issues. Anxiety is one of those. In fact, a recent poll showed specific reasons why people are taking CBD products, the top three are;

In the past several years there have been numerous studies conducted that have shown that CBD does help in relieving feelings of general anxiety. National Health Institute write of a case study involving 72 participants that was published in January, researched whether CBD can help improve anxiety and sleep quality. The results of the study showed a decrease in anxiety symptoms in 57 of the study participants and noted that CBD may hold benefits for anxiety-related disorders. Ans sleep scores were improved within the first month for 48 of the patients.


CBD oil combats anxiety by interacting with the receptors in your brain called CB1 and CB2 receptors. Research shows that the interactions between CBD and the CB1 and CB2 receptors work to alter serotonin signals. In case you’re not sure what serotonin is:
